David Hamblen brings a lifetime of craftsmanship, curiosity, and quiet leadership to Learn & Do Academy. Born in pre-war 1938, he came of age in a generation that valued service and follow-through; principles that still shape his work today. As a U.S. Air Force veteran, he learned discipline, precision, and teamwork – skills he now applies to the Academy’s financial and organizational foundations.
A lifelong tinkerer and tech enthusiast, David has always enjoyed understanding how things work and how to make them better. From balancing budgets and building systems to restoring tools others might discard, he approaches every task with a blend of practicality and invention.
Now a great-grandfather, David embodies the intergenerational heart of Learn & Do, the belief that wisdom and skill should be shared forward. When he is not mentoring or problem-solving for the Academy, you’ll often find him riding the open roads of southern Arizona on his motorcycle or working side by side with Liz on their desert homestead. Together, they continue to learn, build, and live the values they teach.
